When I bought Palm m125 I found that IrDA receive is always on regardless I switch it off in Prefs panel. After some more research I found that it is caused by HotSync application.

After some time i created this application to remove this unwanted behaviour. You can download it, install it, run it - and this is all you need to do. After each HotSync run it automatically switches IrDA back off.
